Lauri Turkia
Lauri Turkia is a PhD candidate in economics at Tampere University, currently visiting Opportunity Insights at Harvard University.
I am a third-year PhD student at Tampere University, affiliated with the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Tax Systems Research (FIT) and the Education for the Future Flagship (EDUCA), under the supervision of prof. Jarkko Harju and assistant prof. Vesa-Matti Heikkuri.
My research is in labor economics, focusing on education, intergenerational mobility, and inequality.
During the 2026-2027 academic year I am visiting Opportunity Insights at Harvard University, hosted by prof. Raj Chetty.
